Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Department of Enforcement
vs. Hossein Amirriahei
Background: Amirriahei first entered the securities industry in January 1991. From July 2003 through September 2016, he was associated with FINRA-member firm Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC
Overview of Allegations: In March 2017, FiNRA began investigating whether, while associated with Wells Fargo, Amirriahei had engaged in unauthorized and/or discretionary trading in two customers’ accounts. On March 13, 2017, Finra staff sent Amirriahei a request for on-the-record testimony pursuant to Finra Rule 8210. As stated in his counsel’s email to Finra on March 16, Amirriahei acknowledges that he received Finra’s request and will not appear for testimony. As a result, Amirriahei violates Finra Rules 8210 and 2010.
Result: Without admitting or denying the findings, Amirriahei accepted a bar from associating with any Finra member.
