R.J. Moore, Independent Brokerage Notable, to Run Giant LPL Affiliate
Private Advisor Group, the giant LPL Financial-affiliated hybrid brokerage and advisory firm, has named Robert “R.J.” Moore as chief executive, according to a memo to PAG’s more than 650 advisors.
“John and I will continue to be part of the senior leadership team,” Sullivan wrote. “Although we have been blessed with significant growth over the years, we know there is so much more opportunity to serve independent advisors. R.J. will provide that vision and path for future exponential growth, leveraging our existing patent-pending compliance system and technology offer as a base.”
Moore, who took the top spot at Cetera shortly after it emerged from bankruptcy, cited health issues when he left after less than 18 months. In the interim period, he became a general partner of a REIT called Agency Mortgage REIT Capital Partners Income Fund.
Hyland tweeted in August about his own long fight with acute myeloid leukemia, saying that he had received a fifth cancer diagnosis.
Private Advisor Group offers platform services, operational and regulatory support to hundreds of independent practices that clear brokerage business through LPL and can conduct fee-based advisory business through LPL’s registered investment advisor, PAG’s RIA or others.
PAG’s advisors, who operate in 38 states, range from solo practices to those working under the umbrella of rapidly expanding firms such as Bleakley Financial Group.
