In fact, it’s hard for me to even remember what it was like when I started in 1992. But some things haven’t changed. Good Financial Advisors (FAs) still focus on their clients above all else. For purposes of this discussion on how you might best exit your practice, let’s stipulate for simplicity that the career options reviewed below all have neutral impact on your client. Other than client benefits, the factors to be considered in exiting your practice have to do with your purpose, happiness, growth, legacy, compensation – and the optimal way to monetize your business. Each of these factors is important and deserving of dedicated due diligence before making a career decision.
